Our Film of the Hidden Artists of Barnsley
Our film, produced over the summer and autumn of 2013, is to give imaginative snapshots of scenes in a selection of artists’ lives. It was directed, filmed and edited by a skilled and patient young volunteer team with dedicated support from our other volunteers. It introduces our project and some of our artists. Just before Christmas 2013, we held a “glittering” premier at the YMCA in Barnsley with awards for our volunteers.
These included “Best Headgear”, “Best Use of a Prop” and “Most Enterprising Costume”. If you would like to read our review of the film-making, the background to some of our awards will become clearer! In truth it was an opportunity to allow all our volunteers to see the results of their labours and to say a big thank you to everyone.
The film lasts just less than 30 minutes and lends itself to being shown in full or just choosing individual 2 to 3 minute scenes. We will show it to community groups and schools during the remainder of our Hidden Art project to give a light-hearted insight into our project.
